Animals often wander from one place to the other in search of “flora and fauna” depending on whether the animal is a carnivore, herbivore or simply an omnivore. It is a very rare to see animals gathered in one place without the sole intention of feasting on each other and Zimbabwe has a few places where beasts can be viewed together.

Spanning around 14600 square kilometres, Hwange National Park presents the human eye with the best of all worlds of unreserved game viewing.

Hwange which happens to be Zimbabwe’s largest game reserve chaffs those who love nature, tickles those who love the sun and leaves animal lovers with a huge “wow” in their inner most beauty sensory cells.

Mavuradonha has now achieved the legal protection of the Mavhuradonha Wilderness Area in the Zambezi escarpment mountains of northern Zimbabwe as a National Monument of Zimbabwe. Cover image is from Mavhuradona Wilderness Eco-Lodge.

The new status was granted by the Zimbabwe Government in January 2017, along with nine other sites of historical and cultural importance. They now fall under the direct supervision of the National Museums and Monument Zimbabwe (NMMZ).

What if Starbucks were to enter the Zimbabwean fast food market tomorrow? As the Coffee industry grows in Zimbabwe, an expansion into Zimbabwe is not a far reach in speculation. 

Zimbabwe has more Coffee shops and Coffee plantations and brands as it ever did in its history. Coffee brands in supermarkets include Tanganda, Vumba, Leopard Forest, just to name a few.

Lovers of the Zambezi River who are interested in learning more about its very ancient history, will be delighted to read a fascinating article by Fenton “Woody” Cotterill, Andy Moore and Roger Key which was reproduced in the The African Fisherman magazine last year.  

The article is a non-technical summary of the original paper published in the South African Journal of Geology under the title:  ‘The Zambezi River: an archive of tectonic events linked to Gondwana amalgamation and disruption, and subsequent evolution of the African Plate’. 

What is particularly fascinating to the layman about this latest research is a) geological study now establishes the ancient Proto-Zambezi as the Earth’s oldest-known river (minimum 280 million years old) and b) that the ancient Proto-Zambezi ran in exactly the opposite direction (west across Africa into the Karoo) to what it does today (east into the Indian Ocean).

Zimbabwean folk move about like their ancestors, the Bantu people, as they travel and settle, from place to place. It is in the Zimbabwean’s blood to migrate and make residence in whatsoever place seen fit for forage, per se.

Qantas Airways Ltd. told travel agents in Zimbabwe to stop selling tickets for its flights after the International Air Transport Association warned it’s getting harder to move funds out of the country, according to a circular sent by the Australian airline to agencies and seen by Bloomberg.

Shopping in Harare is fast growing back into Shopping Centres, and there are several of note, beginning with Joina City, the only shopping full-fledged shopping mall in the city centre.

Harare which happens to be the Capital city of Zimbabwe has in it some very interesting and attractive Shopping centres, where one can even spend the whole day at, as there are activities which are found in these shopping centres which one would love to participate in “Joina City, the heart of the City.”

Zimbabwe is one country adorned with a number of places where one can relax after a long working week. People do not have to travel for long distances, as there are a lot of activities to do within the country. 

There are activities such as cruising, canoeing, and even horse riding in places such as Chengeta Lodge in Harare.
